ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrive Zagreb, Thursday
Welcome to Zagreb! You will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. This evening, join your Tour Director and fellow travelers for a Welcome Dinner. (D,O)

Day 2: Zagreb - Kumrovec - Zagreb, Friday
On a morning sightseeing tour of Croatian capital, a local expert unfurls the rich culture and history of the two tiered capital of Croatia, Zagreb. Walk through the medieval core of the Upper Town to see the Stone Gate, Lotrscak Tower, the Cathedral, Parliament, and Government Palace. In the afternoon, a scenic drive takes us to Kumrovec, a birth place of the late marshal Tito; the president of former Yugoslavia, whose house has been turned into a museum. Today, the major attraction of Kumrovec is the Ethnological Museum Staro Selo, with very well preserved village houses from the turn of the 19th - 20th century. Later, we follow a winding road through the Zagorje Hills for an early dinner of genuine local specialties and wine at the local restaurant/ farm, with magnificent view of the 15th century castle. Return to your hotel in Zagreb for overnight. (B,D,O)

Day 3: Zagreb to Plitvice Lakes, Saturday
Head to magnificent Plitvice Lakes National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Take a walking tour around several of the lower lakes, enjoying the breathtaking scenery of terraced lakes, thickly wooded mountains, and lush vegetation. After your visit, remainder of the day at leisure to relax in this beautiful green oasis. Dinner and overnight. (B,D,O)

Day 4: Ethnoland Dalmati and Hvar, Sunday
Today, the green forests and clear waters give way to culture and ethno experience. Journey into the heart of Dalmatian culture and visit Ethnoland Dalmati, where our experience begins with a welcome ceremony; listen to Dalmatians tell stories of their ancestors; learn about their customs and tradition and feast your body and soul with local delicacies as we sit down at lunch. In the afternoon, board the ferry and set sail to Hvar Island. (B,L,O)

Day 5: in Hvar, Monday
The town of Hvar has a unique cultural and historical heritage, plus a centuries-old tradition in tourism. A morning walking tour reveals Hvar's Venetian flavor, with views of the Fortress, Franciscan Monastery and more. Afterward, enjoy the “lavender experience”; a drive into the inland will be constantly surprised by the sheer variety of island’s landscapes: vineyard covered hills, olive groves and undulating fields of rosemary and lavender. Tonight, kick back, relax, and enjoy this charming island, listed as one of the 10 most beautiful islands in the world by Conde Nast Travel Magazine. As the sun sets, maybe take the opportunity to dine in a traditional ‘konoba’. (B,O)

Day 6: Hvar to Split, Tuesday
Leave the island life behind as you return to mainland. Upon arrival to Split, walking tour of the historic inner city, built around Roman Emperor Diocletian’s Palace, a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site. Then see the remnants of Split’s Roman heritage, its Renaissance and Gothic structures, Jupiter’s Temple and the Peristyle. Remainder of the day is at leisure. Dinner and overnight. (B,D,O) 

Day 7: to Mostar, Ston and Dubrovnik, Wednesday
Cross the border into Bosnia and Herzegovina and first stop at the small town of Medjugorje, one of the most famous places of pilgrimage in the Catholic world. Next, the journey will take us to lovely Mostar to walk across the famous Stari Most that was reconstructed after being almost completely destroyed during the war. In the afternoon, a drive along the picturesque Croatian coast reveals the world-famous natural beauty of the area. Taste delicious oysters at a local restaurant in Ston, before we reach Dubrovnik, the “Pearl of Adriatic”. (B,D,O)

Day 8: in Dubrovnik, Thursday
This morning, a walking tour shows you Old Dubrovnik. See Onofrio’s Fountain and the Rector's Palace, as well as the Bell Tower Clock, Orlando's Column, Sponza Palace, Dominican Monastery, and Franciscan Monastery with its Pharmacy, one of the oldest in the world. The rest of the day is at leisure to enjoy the city your way, browse through the shops, stroll along the ancient city walls, or simply relax. (B,O)

Day 9: to Kotor and Kolasin, Friday
Travel to the Republic of Montenegro. Drive toward the beautiful Bay of Kotor, the longest and deepest fjord in southern Europe. Enjoy a boat ride to Our Lady of the Rocks, one of the two islets off the coast of Perast, before we visit Kotor. Photo stop at Sveti Stefan, before we continue to Kolasin; the whole area is surrounded by the thick pine forest of the Bjelasica Mountain and is a popular skiing and spa resort. Dinner and overnight in Kolasin. (B,D,O)

Day 10: in Montenegro, Saturday
Today discover National Park Durmitor, Zabljak and River Tara canyon the deepest canyon in Europe.Lunch at a local restaurant. Also visit the Biogradsko Lake, located in the center of Biogradska Mountain. Dinner and overnight in Kolasin. (B,L,D,O)

Day 11: to Moraca and Tirana, Sunday
After breakfast, we'll visit Moraca Monastery, the largest medieval Orthodox monument in Montenegro. Next, head south to Albania to the town of Shkodra, a cultural center and one of Albania’s oldest cities. We will do a quick stop to see the “Bazaar of the Artisans” located at the city entrance. An afternoon drive will take us by the ruins of Rozafa Castle, set on a hill high above the city, to the capital of Albania, Tirana. Tonight, enjoy dinner at the hotel. (B,D,O)

Day 12: Tirana and Kruje, Monday
Go on a morning sightseeing tour of Tirana where you'll see Skanderbeg Square; the Mosque of Et’hem Bey; the Clock Tower; the statue of G.K. Skanderbeg; the Palace of Culture, and the National History Museum, with a mosaic on its facade portraying Albanian history. In the afternoon, we'll visit Kruje, best known as the hometown of Albania’a national hero, G.K. Skanderbeg. Visit the Ethnographic Museum and walk through the old bazaar, before you say goodbye to your new friends at a farewell dinner at a local restaurant. (B,D,O)

Day 13: depart Tirana, Tuesday
After breakfast you will be transferred to the airport for your departure flight. (B)
